Grande mappa pittorica della città del Cairo in Egitto che presenta una curiosa distorsione prospettica che permette di identificare tutti i punti di interesse più importanti e specialmente di inserire una moltitudine di attività commerciali e i servizi aziendali, professionali e turistici proposti in città. Le carte di promozione degli interessi commerciali locali sono diventate popolari negli anni ’80 e ’90 e la particolarità di questa rappresentazione del Cairo è quella che contiene anche caricature degli stessi imprenditori a fianco delle loro attività. La vivacissima carta è completata da numerose e interessanti note di spiegazione in calce alle vignette. In basso a sinistra l’immancabile Piramide di Cheope e l’iconica Grande Sfinge di Giza. A colourful promotional map of French West Africa by Leon Craste designed to promote tourism and commercial development in French West Africa, which continued to operate as a political federation until 1960. Published by French Ministry of Overseas in 1951. The map shows the area from Atlantic Ocean to Chad and Cameroon and from Algeria to Togo including the colonies of Mauritania, Sudan, Senegal and Ivory Coast and some of the Portuguese territories like Guinea-Bissau, Gambia, Ghana and Nigeria. Illustrations of major cities, agricultural products, natural resources and exotic animals are on display, along with an inset showing French possessions relative to the entire continent.

Striking map showing the routes of Sabena Airlines throughout Africa, the Middle East, and Europe created in beautiful color patterns with the oceans surrounding it in blue tones. The map features many of the cities printed in gold, as well as the flight patterns that connect them together. The routes delineated in the map show the two main hubs of Sabena to be Brussels with Leopoldville, capital of the Belgian Congo (now Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo) with a large number of other destinations around and between them. African tribal art is used in this image as part of the design as well as the regional representation of ethnic people. Published in Brussels by Marci in 1960.
