A goat and two sheep resting, the central sheep seen from the rear, the goat at right and facing the viewer, a fence in background, a seated shepherd in left background; Third state of 3 with number 7 out of the line. Very fine burin by Philips Galle after Jan van der Straet. From the series “Venationes Ferarum, Avium, Piscium”. In the centre foreground, Diana, holding an olive branch, is seated upon a rock beside a reclining river god with a cornucopia; on either side fishermen men wade in a river with nets and mallets; beyond, the river, spanned by a bridge, flows between two hills with villages. Very fine burin by Philips Galle after Jan van der Straet . From the series “Venationes Ferarum, Avium, Piscium”. It shows in the centre foreground, a river god holds a cornucopia and rests upon a rocky outcrop; beside him, the goddess Diana holds an olive branch; below them, to the left, men fish with rods, while to the right, men fish at night with lanterns and nets; a village on the left flanks the river… [cod.963/15]

A very fine complete series of 4 etching by Marcus De Bye after Paulus Potter showing the hunt with hounds. Published by Nicolaes Visscher in 1660 ca. The first plate “A bull hunt” is also the frontispiece of the work. It shows a landscape with the bull in profile to right, attacked by three hounds. Inscription Content: Lettered on the banderole held by the eagle at upper centre: “P. POTTER inu./ M. de Bye fecit”. [cod.973/15]
