Deliziosa veduta generale di Brescia presa da oriente, dalle pendici dei Ronchi, con il Broletto ed il Duomo Nuovo che svettano sulla città. In primo piano, quasi a dare profondità alla scena, troviamo tre personaggi, due uomini ed una donna che, sdraiati sotto i resti della cinta muraria, si godono la calda giornata. La raffinata veduta, disegnata dal pittore H. Lauterbach e incisa su acciaio da Albert Henry Payne , è tratta dall’opera Payne’s Universum und Buch der Kunst pubblicata a Lipsia nel 1850. Si tratta della prima rappresentazione di Brescia stampata a colori e uno dei primi esempi di “vedute romantiche” che caratterizzeranno tutto il XIX secolo.
