A very fine complete series of 4 etching by Marcus De Bye after Paulus Potter showing the hunt with hounds. Published by Nicolaes Visscher in 1660 ca. The first plate “A bull hunt” is also the frontispiece of the work. It shows a landscape with the bull in profile to right, attacked by three hounds. Inscription Content: Lettered on the banderole held by the eagle at upper centre: “P. POTTER inu./ M. de Bye fecit”. [cod.973/15]

The first plate “A bull hunt” is also the frontispiece of the work. It shows a landscape with the bull in profile to right, attacked by three hounds. Inscription Content: Lettered on the banderole held by the eagle at upper centre: “P. POTTER inu./ M. de Bye fecit”. At lower centre: “N. Visscher excudit.” Numbered 1 at lower right. The plate numbered 2 describes a wolf facing right, attacked by five hounds, a hunter in right background. The plate numbered 3 shows a boar facing left, attacked by four hounds, a hunter on horseback in right background. In the last plate a bear facing right is attacked by six hounds with a hunter on horseback in left background. [cod.973/15]
