Sicilia e Principali Vedute della Medesima eseguita dall’Architetto G. Dimartino

Very rare map of Sicily, drawn by the architect G. Dimartino and published in Palermo in 1859, is a remarkable example of 19th-century cartographic art. Executed with a refined lithographic technique, the map pays particular attention to the coastal toponyms, following the style of traditional nautical charts.
Richly embellished by views of some of the main locations on the island: Temple of Hercules in Girgenti, Messina, Palermo, Catania, Temple of Juno la Cinia, Cefalù, Termini, Castrogiovanni and Calascibetta, Capo Passero and Pachino, Temple of Neptune in Girgenti, Syracuse, Trapani, Girgenti, Caltanissetta, Paternico, Jaci and Sciacca.
