Importante e suggestiva pianta topografica della città di Vicenza tratta dall’opera Civitates Orbis Terrarum di Franz Hogenberg e George Braun pubblicata a Colonia nel 1572. La pregevole veduta incisa all’acquaforte dallo stesso Hogenberg e da Simon van der Neuvel presenta un tratto preciso e raffinato che associato al punto di vista leggermente rialzato permette di identificare tutta la toponomastica del tempo. La carta, in bella coloritura originale, è completata dalla legenda con 93 riferimenti ad altrettanti punti di interesse.
Il Civitates Orbis Terrarum, il primo atlante della storia a descrivere le città più importanti di tutto il mondo, fu opera di impegno eccezionale e voluta dal Braun a continuazione del Theatrum Orbis Terrarum di Ortelius.
