    Striking map of Sardinia from Corso Universale published in Venice in 1692. Vincenzo Maria Coronelli is widely recognised as one of Italy?s most famous and greatest cartographers. He received an ecclesiastical education at the convent of the Minor Conventuals and also studied theology in Rome.     Striking map of the islands of Tremiti, located north of the Gargano Peninsula and west of Pescara in the Adriatic Sea, showing San Nicola, Capraia, and San Domino.
    Embellished by galleons in the sea, compass rose and a nice cartouche listing the point of interest. Engraved with great care and high detail by Frate F.M.Ferri (this is one of the few Coronelli’s signed plate).
    From the monumental “Isolario dell’Atlante Veneto” by Vincenzo Coronelli published in Venice in 1696.
